Il Canzoniere dei Ribelli è un progetto covato a lungo da Alex Steiner, e finalmente portato alla luce grazie al contributo di Marco Fumagalli, Fabio Targhetta e Astrid.

 The Rebels' Songs Archives is a project long thought and sought by Alex Steiner which at last has turned into reality thanks to Marco Fumagalli, Fabio Targhetta and Astrid's contribution.
L'idea che ci sta dietro è quella di diffondere e rendere disponibile tramite Internet, per quanto possibile, tutta quella parte della cultura anarchica, libertaria e di lotta politica (partigiana, socialista, comunista, antifascista e anticlericale) che è stata tramandata dalle canzoni. Through Internet, the idea is to spread and make available, as much as possible, that very big part of the Anarchic and Libertarian culture together with the tradition of political fights (partisan, socialist, comunist, anti-fascist and anticlerical issues) which has been handed on by songs.
Un doveroso omaggio a chi ha lottatto per la libertà contro tutti i potenti, e un ambizioso progetto di tramandare la memoria coi linguaggi del futuro. This is meant to be a tribute to all those who fought for freedom against all kinds of powers and, at the same time, its ambition is to hand on the memory of the past through future means.
Il periodo di riferimento va dal 1800 alla seconda guerra mondiale, ma potrà eventualmente sconfinare negli anni '60 e '70 su testi particolarmente significativi. Escludiamo invece (almeno per ora) i contributi di musiche più recenti per dare omogeneità al progetto, per non occuparci di produzioni già ampiamente disponibili su Internet e buon ultimo per evitare problemi riguardanti i diritti d'autore. (E a tale proposito, vista la particolare natura politica e culturale del progetto, invitiamo chiunque pretenda diritti su testi e registrazioni di musiche, di segnalarcelo via email. Troveremo sicuramente un accordo). The period examined goes from the XIX century to the end of World War II, but some particularly interesting songs of the 60's and 70's can be included in the future.
At least for the moment, we'd rather prefer not to take into consideration more recent songs in order to give cohesion to the project, to differentiate it from other music sites otherwise already widely present on Internet and, last but not least, to avoid problems concerning copyright and authors' rights. (By the way: given the particular political and cultural nature of these pages, we invite anyone claiming rights on lyrics and/on songs to put in contact with us by email: we'll find an agreement for sure!).
A differenza dei canzonieri su carta, l'utilizzo degli ipertesti permette di fruire direttamente delle canzoni in più formati. Sarà pertanto possibile leggere il testo e contemporaneamente (se disponibile in quel formato) ascoltare la canzone o visualizzarne le note in uno spartito. Unlike the song archives on paper, the use of hypertexts allows to enjoy the songs directly in more than one format. It is then possible to read the text of a song and to listen to its tune or read the notes on the score at the same time, provided the formats are available.
Si cercherà di tradurre tutti i testi in inglese, in modo da permettere al maggior numero possibile di utenti di Internet di capire almeno il senso delle canzoni originali. We'll try to translate all of the texts into English in order to allow the widest Internet users as possible at least to grasp the meaning of the songs.
Per il formato Real Audio (che è un vero e proprio campionamento da CD) è necessario installare sul proprio computer (se non presente) un adeguato plugin prelevabile direttamente da Internet. For the Real Audio format (a true sampling from CD) it is necessary to install on your computer (where not already present) a suitable plugin that you can directly get from Internet.

Note tecniche: Per campionare i CD possiamo consigliare windac (campiona una o più tracce di cd audio e lo converte in wav), per codificare un file in realaudio esiste realencoder (occorre compilare una form per ottenere il programma). Se avete uno spartito esiste il programma Noteworthy Composer che puņ esportare in midi e viceversa.
Vi consigliamo inoltre goldwave 3.22 (utile per lavorare con diversi formati audio - wav, aiff,au ecc,).
Tutti i programmi si trovano abbastanza facilmente in internet (ai siti linkati).

Il formato HTML è disponibile come link ad un file a parte per permettere di esportare il testo in un qualsiasi editor o di stamparlo senza problemi di gestione dei frame.

Technical notes: To sample CD, we suggest windac (it samples one or more CD tracks converting them into wave) while to code a file in real audio we suggest realencoder (you need to fill in a form to get the program). If you have a score, the program Noteworthy Composer can export it into midi and viceversa.
We also suggest goldwave 3.22 which is useful for different audio formats (wav, aiff, au, etc).
